Pricing & Installation

Installed as part of our whole-home system

Water softening is always included in our $2,999 whole-home system. Here’s why: softening works best with filtration. Hard water minerals vary around Pierce, Kitsap and Thurston Counties, and groundwater is more likely to be hard than surface-sourced supplies. Our whole-home approach treats hardness at the source while filtering the sediment and chlorine that can add to scale and wear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my water actually need softening?

It depends on your source. Surface-sourced supplies such as Tacoma Water are generally soft, while groundwater and well water vary from one neighborhood and one well to the next. A quick hardness test tells you, and if yours is low we will say so.

What does scale cost me compared with a softener?

Scale builds up on heating elements and inside your water heater, which makes it work harder and can shorten its life. Replacing a water heater is a big expense, so preventing scale is one of the better reasons to soften hard water. If your water is not hard, you don’t need one.

Does a softener remove chlorine or make water safe to drink?

No. A softener treats hardness only. For chlorine taste we add carbon filtration, and for drinking water reverse osmosis.

Will softened water taste salty?

No. Softened water does not taste salty, and the system is sized so it does not.

Questions People Rarely Ask But Should

Isn’t softened water bad for you?

Not for most people. Softened water does not taste salty, and the system is sized so it does not. Softening adds a small amount of sodium, so if you are on a strict low-sodium diet, ask your doctor. Our whole-home system also includes a reverse osmosis faucet for drinking water.

Why should I trust a local operator over a national brand?

National brands sell volume and rotate technicians. We are locally owned in Tacoma, and our reputation in Pierce, Kitsap and Thurston Counties depends on how your water turns out, not on a quarterly earnings call.

Will you try to upsell me into a system I don’t need?

We test first and recommend only what your water needs. A customer we served well who refers a neighbor is worth far more to us than one we oversold. The whole-home system is a fixed price, so there is no quote game to play.

What if I’m skeptical that I need water treatment at all?

Good. You should be. Text us and we will look at your water. If the results show it is fine, we will tell you it is fine. Not every home needs treatment, and if yours does, you will see why in the data and the decision is yours.
