What Happens After Installation?
How often do filters need replacing?
Typically annually for the sediment filter and every 3–5 years for carbon or resin media. We send reminders.
What’s the annual maintenance cost?
About $150–300 a year for filter cartridges. No technician visits are needed for routine maintenance.
How long does the system last?
Typically 8–10 years for whole-home systems. Some components, like resin, regenerate. Others are replaced.
What if something breaks?
Your warranty covers manufacturing defects. We repair or replace at no cost within the first year.
Can I service it myself?
Filter changes are simple, and we give you guidance. Major repairs are done by a licensed local plumber.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is whole-home filtration right for city water or well water?
It works for both. City water is usually about chlorine taste. On a well we recommend a water test first, because wells often need iron or bacteria treatment too.
Will this remove hard water minerals?
Yes. The whole-home system includes a water softener (resin and brine) alongside the carbon filter, so scale-causing calcium and magnesium are treated too.
Will whole-home filtration remove fluoride?
No. Carbon media removes chlorine, taste, odor and many chemicals, but not fluoride. If removing fluoride is your goal, a reverse osmosis faucet for drinking water is the right tool, and our whole-home system includes one.
What’s the difference between your system and a cheap hardware-store filter?
Cartridge filters are small, so water passes through the carbon quickly and the cartridge clogs and needs frequent swaps. Ours uses a full-size carbon tank with an automatic control valve that backwashes the bed to keep it from clogging. How long the media lasts depends on your water and usage, and we will tell you what to expect after a look at your water.
Will this help if my water tests high for PFOA or PFAS?
Partly, and it depends on the compound. Carbon reduces some PFAS but not all of them. Health agencies list reverse osmosis among the home treatments for PFAS, so we pair it at the kitchen tap if that is your concern. A lab test shows what is actually in your water, and we are straight about what a filter can and cannot do.
What’s the installation process like?
Our technician arrives, shuts off your water for about 4 hours, installs the system, pressure tests it and makes sure everything flows correctly. You are back to normal water use that day.
What warranty do you offer?
A 1-year warranty on all equipment, plus our satisfaction guarantee: if you are not happy, we will adjust or replace.
Can you service my existing system?
Yes. We can maintain or upgrade any water system. We assess it during your free consultation.
Do you serve my area?
Yes. We serve Tacoma, Puyallup, Bremerton, Port Orchard, Olympia, Lacey and surrounding areas.
Questions People Rarely Ask But Should
Why shouldn’t I just use a pitcher filter?
A pitcher filters one glass at a time. Your shower, washing machine, dishwasher and water heater still get unfiltered water, and showers are where you breathe in chlorine. A pitcher is like taking vitamins while eating fast food. Whole-home treats the water everywhere it is used.
Why should I trust a local operator over a national brand?
National brands sell volume and rotate technicians. We are locally owned in Tacoma, and our reputation in Pierce, Kitsap and Thurston Counties depends on how your water turns out, not on a quarterly earnings call.
Will you try to upsell me into a system I don’t need?
We test first and recommend only what your water needs. A customer we served well who refers a neighbor is worth far more to us than one we oversold. The whole-home system is a fixed price, so there is no quote game to play.
What if I’m skeptical that I need water treatment at all?
Good. You should be. Text us and we will look at your water. If the results show it is fine, we will tell you it is fine. Not every home needs treatment, and if yours does, you will see why in the data and the decision is yours.
