Frequently Asked Questions

Why test my well if it has been fine for years?

Well water changes. Drought and a falling water table, nearby construction, an aging well casing or bacteria growth can all shift what comes out of the tap. A test shows what you have now, not what you had years ago.

What’s the difference between iron staining and rust?

Dissolved iron is clear in the glass, then stains orange when it meets air. Rust is iron that is already oxidized, which is why the water looks red or brown right away. The treatment differs slightly, and the test shows which one you have.

Can you fix sulfur (rotten egg) smell?

Usually. Hydrogen sulfide can come from the aquifer itself or from bacteria in the well, and we treat it where the water enters your home. If the smell keeps coming back, we may recommend disinfecting the well or taking a closer look at it. We explain this at your consultation.

How often should I test my well?

Local health districts recommend testing for bacteria every year and nitrate every three years.

Will this make my well water safe to drink?

It treats what your test finds, including iron, sulfur and bacteria. If your test shows other contaminants, we recommend an add-on such as reverse osmosis.

Questions People Rarely Ask But Should

My well has been fine for 20 years. Why test now?

Because wells change, and you can’t see most of what matters. Health districts recommend testing for bacteria every year and nitrate every three years even when the water looks fine. Our $149 basic test checks nitrate and coliform bacteria, and it is credited toward your install.

Why should I trust a local operator over a national brand?

National brands sell volume and rotate technicians. We are locally owned in Tacoma, and our reputation in Pierce, Kitsap and Thurston Counties depends on how your water turns out, not on a quarterly earnings call.

Will you try to upsell me into a system I don’t need?

We test first and recommend only what your water needs. A customer we served well who refers a neighbor is worth far more to us than one we oversold. The whole-home system is a fixed price, so there is no quote game to play.

What if I’m skeptical that I need water treatment at all?

Good. You should be. Text us and we will look at your water. If the results show it is fine, we will tell you it is fine. Not every home needs treatment, and if yours does, you will see why in the data and the decision is yours.
